You shouldn’t hate your job. Which is not to say it’s your fault if you do—we’ve all gotten a lot of mixed messages about work, and most of us have internalized many of those messages without even realizing it.
So please allow me to restate that: you should not hate your job. If you do, you need a new job. If you really, really hate your job, consider quitting right away and getting a gig job to make ends meet. If you only sort of hate your job, start looking around to see what might be a good next step. In either case, think about what you don’t like about your current job, and what a good one would be like. Be specific here because this info will guide your next moves. For instance, if what you don’t like is your boss, identify what a really good manager would be like so you can ask around those issues in your next interview.
You deserve a job you enjoy. If you don’t know how to start looking for one, let’s talk. First session is always free.
